Description

The Oxbow Electronic Gate is a 24 hour checkpoint open May through November. Visitors can self-register at this location for access to the 3.5 million acre North Maine Woods region. Visitors may also pre-register or purchase passes at the Deep in the Woods Gift Shop located approximately 3 1/2 miles on the Oxbow Rd from Route 11.

  • • All recreational vehicles must register and pay fees at a checkpoint.
  • • Logging trucks always have right of way on all roads.
  • • Maximum speed 45 mph. No motorcycles, ATVs, or bicycles.
